PARAMUS, N.J. -- Several hours after Elin broke her silence to People magazine Wednesday morning about her relationship with Tiger Woods, the golfer also spoke candidly about his scandal, addressing his life on and off the course with reporters following his practice round at The Barclays tournament in Paramus, New Jersey.
Its a sad time in our lives. And, you know, were looking forward in our lives [to] how we can help our kids as best we possibly can. Thats the most important thing, Tiger told reporters.

The Barclays marks Tigers first tournament since his divorce with Elin was finalized on Monday.
Tiger, who has struggled on the course since returning to the game in April, admitted it hasnt been easy to focus on his profession given his personal problems.

At times, it was difficult. You try to block it out as best you possibly can and focus on a shot, but at times it certainly was, Tiger added. Its one of those things where, its a sad time and were going through it right now and as far as my game and practicing, thats been secondary. Were trying to get our kids situated to our new living conditions and how thats going to be and thats where our focus is at right now.
When asked if he had any regrets in the wake of his admitted infidelity scandal, the worlds number one golfer said he never intended to bring this type of drama to his family.
You dont ever go into a marriage looking to get divorced. Thats why it is sad, he noted. My actions certainly led us to this decision. Ive certainly made a lot of errors in my life and thats something Im going to have to live with.

However, Tiger claimed he has found some good in the events of the past nine months, which began with his publicized Thanksgiving night car crash.
You have to find the positives, he told the press. Even though there are a lot of negatives, I think thats actually a good thing because I learned a lot about myself and how I can become a better person.

As for Elin, who told People magazine she has been through hell and admitted she never suspected her ex-husband was cheating, one reporter asked if Tiger still loved the former Swedish model.
I wish her the best in everything, Tiger said of Elin.
