The film, based on an original untitled screenplay by the talented mother of six, is the story of a Bosnian woman and Serbian military man who fall in love during the Bosnian war.
The project will have a budget of less than $15 million, and will be produced by Angelina, Graham King and GK Films partner Tim Headington, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Angelina visited Bosnia last week to meet with the countrys officials, and scout locations for the upcoming film. As a UN Goodwill Ambassador, the star has visited the formerly war-torn region many times, and stated her desire to cast local citizens for the movie.
The film is a love story, not a political statement, Angelina said in a statement released by the UNHCR during her visit to the region. I would like to involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can.
Angelina will not appear in the project, but can be seen next in GK Films international thriller The Tourist, with Johnny Depp. According to The Hollywood Reporter and MTV News, she is also set to appear as evil queen Maleficent in Tim Burtons upcoming Sleeping Beauty reboot, as well as the title role in the Scott Rudin-produced Cleopatra.
